The day after Christmas means back to work for horsemen and horsewomen. Featured at Hollywood Dayton is the $17,500 Open Trot which includes a couple of Indiana-connected horses.

Sweet Mr Pinetucky, owned and trained by Lester Raber, is one of the early favorites from post nine. The five-year-old gelded son of Pinetucky will seek to add his sixth win to his card in 2019 with Brett Miller at the controls. His best time this season was a 1:53.4 win, which is his career best for Raber. If he finishes first or second, he will go over the $200,000 career earnings mark.
Joining Sweet Mr Pinetucky in the Open is the Jon Anderson-trained Verge of Insanity from post three. Anderson, who is based in Indiana, has called upon LeWayne Miller to drive. The seven-year-old Keystroke Hanover gelding will seek his fourth win of 2019. He has earnings in excess of $117,000 for Anderson and a career best time of 1:55.4.
Kicking off the program Thursday, Dec. 26 at Pompano Park is a $10,000 Open Dash Trot contested at five-eighths of a mile. Included in the race is the Brian Hauck trained Msnaughtyashill, the daughter of former Indiana Sires Stakes champ Msnaughtybutnice. The Muscle Hill four-year-old mare seeks her seventh win of 2019 from post five in the six-horse lineup. Mike Simons has been named to drive for Hauck.
Joining Msnaughtyashill is the Rick Plano driven and trained Sooo Handsome, who has won several of his 10 races in Indiana in 2019. The Cash Hall six-year-old has accumulated in excess of $267,000 during his career.
