Applications for the 2021 Indiana Standardbred Association (ISA) Horsemen’s Representative are now open. The position will be in effect for the 2021 racing season at Harrah’s Hoosier Park, which has a proposed start date of late March. The racing dates for 2021 are expected to be reviewed and approved at the Indiana Horse Racing Commission (IHRC) meeting in December 2020.

Applications are due by Thurs. Dec. 31, 2020 for the 2021 ISA Horsemen’s Rep.
The ISA Horsemen’s representative works as a liaison between track management and the horsemen and horsewomen racing in Indiana. The applicant must be a paid member of ISA, a member of the US Trotting Association, and also be a resident of Indiana during employment as the horsemen’s rep. Other duties include assisting with race bike insurance, the ISA Primary Care Medical program, and the ISA Insurance program. The ISA representative should be in attendance for every live racing day, including qualifiers and be present for the daily draw in the racing administration building and also be available for frequent meetings with the ISA Chairman and/or the pari-mutuel committee.
The ISA Horsemen’s Representative may also be called upon to inspect the barn area, paddock and track, attend ISA meetings, keep a log of services rendered and tasks performed, maintain office hours, and establish a positive working relationship with track personnel, including the racing secretary, judges and track superintendent.
