Bluebird Jesse started off 2020 with a winning stride and he’s headed into the final month of racing the same way. Owned by Indiana’s Brian Carsey and Casey Myers along with Alan Friedland of New York, the six-year-old son of Jailhouse Jesse earned his sixth win of the year Tuesday, Nov. 17 in the $16,000 Winners Over Select Handicap Trot at Dover Downs.

Under the direction of driver Tim Tetrick, Bluebird Jesse rallied out to the early lead on the five-eighths mile oval and never looked back, scoring the win in 1:55.1. Sheez on a Cruz and Montrel Teague finished second followed by Filled Donut and Art Stafford Jr. for third. Jim King Jr. trains the Indiana sired trotter.
Bluebird Jesse, who started out on the Indiana racing circuit at two and three under the care of Keith Roth, now has in excess of $400,000 in earnings with 23 career wins in 95 career starts. His best time was taken earlier this year at Dover in 1:53.2. He was an $11,500 yearling purchase from the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale and has a full sister born earlier this year named Martz Jailbird.
Bluebird Jesse is among the top 10 all-time foals from Jailhouse Jesse in total purse earnings. He joins the elite list that includes horses such as Buck I St Pat and Bridge to Jesse’s as a top performer by Jailhouse Jesse.
