Morairtime, the 2021 Indiana Older Trotting Mare of the Year, holds a new record. The mare brought more than $100,000 through an online auction through OnGait.com.
Greg Luther of Ohio was the winning bidder on Morairtime, who fetched a price of $102,500 Saturday, Feb. 4. The six-year-old daughter of Airzoom Lindy was campaigned in 2021 by the Parker Stable under the direction of trainer Carol Jamieson-Parker and driver Jack Parker Jr. James Moore III of Concord, NC was the owner of the mare who won 10 races last season and took a new lifetime mark of 1:51.4 at Pocono Downs.
Morairtime recently returned to the track for the Parker Stable, finishing sixth in the Open Trot at Dover Downs in early February.
Morairtime started off her career as a two-year-old at Harrah’s Hoosier Park under trainer Chris Beaver. She competed in Indiana Sires Stakes action as a two and three-year-old before joining the Parker Stable and being based on the East Coast. After racing mainly on the East Coast, she returned at the end of her four-year-old campaign to finish second in the Indiana Sires Stakes final and did the same last year at five, winning the Indiana Sires Stakes Final for older trotting mares.
Morairtime is second only to Churita as the top foal by Indiana sire Airzoom Lindy. Churita earned in excess of $1 million during her racing career.
